There are two main Nissan Certified Pre-Owned warranty options available: Certified and Certified Select. Each one covers a different kind of Nissan vehicle with different requirements. Get the details and differences between these two Nissan CPO warranties below:

Nissan Certified

• Vehicle must be less than six years old and have less than 80,000 miles
• Vehicle must pass a 167-point inspection
• Available Carfax vehicle history report

Nissan Certified Select

• Vehicle must be less than ten years old and have less than 100,000 miles
• Vehicle must pass an 84-point inspection
• Available Carfax vehicle history report

The length of your Nissan CPO warranty will depend on whether you have the Certified or Certified Select warranty. If your vehicle qualifies for the Nissan Certified warranty, your vehicle will be covered for seven years (from the original sell date) or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. If your vehicle instead qualifies for the Certified Select warranty, you’ll be covered for six months (from the date of your purchase) or 6,000 miles, whichever comes first. 

Both the Certified and Certified Select warranties cover important parts of your CPO Nissan vehicle. Some of the major areas included are:

• Transmission & Transfer case components
• Drivetrain components
• Hybrid/EV system elements
• Replacement parts

In addition to this coverage, you’ll have access to 24/7 roadside assistance through the term of the warranty. If you qualify for the Certified program you’ll also receive one year of pre-paid maintenance at a qualified service center. Under the Certified Select warranty, you’ll receive one complimentary maintenance service after purchase. 

Whether or not your Nissan Certified Pre-Owned warranty is transferable depends on which warranty coverage you have. The Certified warranty program starts from the day the vehicle was bought new and lasts for seven years. The CPO warranty coverage can only be passed down through one subsequent owner in this timeframe. The Certified Select warranty is more strict, as the cars are often older, and the six-month warranty is non-transferable.
