Automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection
This feature helps prevent collisions by automatically applying the brakes when a pedestrian is detected.
Blind spot warning
Alerts you when there is a vehicle in your blind spot, helping you change lanes safely.
High beam assist
Automatically switches between high and low beams to ensure optimal visibility without blinding other drivers.
Lane departure warning
Warns you if you begin to drift out of your lane without signaling.
Rear automatic braking
Helps prevent collisions when reversing by automatically applying the brakes if an obstacle is detected.
Rear cross traffic alert
Alerts you to approaching vehicles from either side when backing out of a parking space.
From all angles, this suite works to protect. Whether you’re reversing in a crowded parking lot or driving through residential areas, your Nissan will do its best to keep you and others safe. Essentially, it provides a 360-degree bubble of protection.
What Nissan Vehicles Offer It?
In two years, Nissan aims to include this suite in all of its best-selling models. Until then, a select group will include the Nissan Safety Shield 360. Right now, that includes the 2019 Nissan Altima and 2019 Nissan Rogue.
Of course, this isn’t all that Nissan has to offer by way of safety technology. They recently released ProPILOT Assist, which is available on the 2019 Altima. According to Nissan, “ProPILOT Assist eases driver workload by reducing the amount of driver acceleration, steering and braking input under certain driving conditions, during single-lane highway driving.”
